About Us
In Annalong Primary School our aim is to ensure that we provide an education that is child-centred, enabling each child to achieve their full potential. We can achieve this goal by providing a child-centred education underpinned by high quality teaching and learning. We also work closely with outside agencies as necessary.
We greatly value our partnership with parents and the wider community and nurture relationships in a number of effective ways. This website is just one example of that partnership in action.
In addition to delivering the Northern Ireland Curriculum, the school also offers a wide range of additional opportunities and experiences to the children. Our focus is on developing the whole child.
Annalong Primary School is an “Extended School,” providing both pupils and their families with access to a programme of activities including a healthy break option, IFA soccer coaching, ICT club, dance classes and many more individual projects e.g. Ulster Orchestra project. The school library is also open to families.
The school makes full use of its excellent outdoor facilities and as a result has achieved success in both hockey and soccer at local and Ulster levels. An adventure playground and trim trail is also available to pupils and their families during the school day.
The school is also proud of its environmental credentials. An “Eco-Schools Action Team,” plays an active part in developing a range of environmental initiatives including the installation of solar panels, a recycling scheme, tree planting and the development of a school garden as examples.
These and other activities will feature in different ways and at different times throughout the year on the website. We hope you enjoy learning more about our school!
